Netherlands vs. US: Two exciting young teams go head-to-head for place in World Cup quarterfinals

One of the more intriguing matchups in Qatar 2022’s first knockout round will take place on Saturday between the US Men’s National Team and the Netherlands.

Even though the Netherlands are the odds-on favorite, this matchup is undoubtedly closer than that, and both teams are confident that they can secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

The Netherlands will be a challenging opponent for the US on Saturday since they are eight places higher than the US in the FIFA world rankings and have players with international recognition like Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, and Memphis Depay.

Will Berhalter’s team be able to advance to the round of eight for the first time since 2002?

While scoring the game-winning goal in the crucial match against Iran, the Chelsea forward suffered what he described as a pelvic contusion. However, head coach Berhalter said on Friday that Pulisic is expected to play on Saturday.

By certain US supporters, Pulisic is known as “Captain America,” and on Thursday, he pledged to “do everything in my ability to cooperate with this medical staff and make sure that I can play.”
